The Iguassu Falls



The Iguassu Falls are a spectacular group of about 300 waterfalls on the Iguaçu River which is situated Brazilian-Argentinean border in the state of Parana. The falls can be reached by road from Curitiba or Foz do Iguaçu.

The falls are located within the jurisdiction of the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil.
The Iguassu falls are considered the eight wonder of the natural world and are the largest system of waterfalls in the world. The falls were declared a natural heritage site by UNESCO in 1986.

Walking on the nature trails:

There are designated nature trails for visitors to the falls, with the main one providing a good view of a series of waterfalls at “devils throat”. Devil’s throat is a U-shaped overhang where some of the most impressive falls can be seen.

The falls are also an ideal location popular for honeymooners with the romantic setting that the falls provide. Accommodation is provided nearby and you can take one of the special night-time guided walks run during the full moon.

There are also restaurants and a souvenir gift shop for visitors.

The Iguaçu National Park is also home to a large number of bird species, wildlife and exotic forest vegetation for the nature lover.
