Joao Pessoa is an eastern Brazilian City founded in 1585 by the Portuguese, making it one of the oldest South American Cities. The city has an estimated population of 0.65 million residents and is the most populous city in the state. Joao Pessoa is the Capital City of Paraiba State. The city has the distinction of being one of the most “green” cities in the world only rivaled by Paris.
