Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil with an estimated population of 10 million residents, making it one of the most populous cities in the world. This is a very multicultural city with a mix of; German, Indian, Arab, Spaniard, Portuguese, Italian and Asian influences.

Sao Paulo is the Capital of the State of Sao Paulo. The city is situated approximately 70 km inland from the South Atlantic Ocean near the city of Santos.

Sao Paulo is a major economic and educational centre; the city is home to some of the country’s best learning institutions which include the University of Sao Paulo.
The city is also the location of the “Bovespa” which is the Brazilian Stock Exchange and a host of National and International Corporations.

Sao Paulo is a very exciting and entertaining city. Each year the city hosts a number of art and cultural events which include; the Sao Paulo International Film Festival, the Sao Paulo Carnival and the Sao Paulo Fashion week.

The City hosts the famous Sao Paulo Grand Prix each year, which is a round in the Grand Prix circuit.

The City’s restaurants too have a lot to offer in terms of a rich and tantalizing cuisine. There are also a number of night clubs, pubs, museums, art galleries and shopping complexes.

Sao Paulo is served by three airports namely; the Guarulhos International Airport, the Congonhas Domestic Airport and the Campo de Marte Airport.

The City however is faced by a number of problems mainly due to rapid population growth which has led to high unemployment rates and crime.
