Traveling with children

Traveling to Brazil with children need not be a cumbersome experience. Good preparation and planning can assure your visit is an ideal getaway. Locals love children and are very welcoming especially in restaurants.

Speak to your local practitioner for information on vaccinations that may be required for visiting Brazil though there are not many health risks associated with travel to the country especially in the major cities. The sun here can be a problem for the young ones and sunscreen and hats should be used when venturing outdoors.

Major airports in the country have designated child play and care areas. Kids do not normally get charged on buses unless they occupy a seat which may be necessary for long distance journeys.

Hotels normally do not charge children up to the age of five years. Some of the upper-range hotels have a good range of facilities for kids which include; play areas and television. You can also visit local cinemas where foreign movies are shown in English with Portuguese sub-titles.
Things to bring:

If traveling with infants, it is important to take with you disposable diapers as these are not common in the country and can only be found at some supermarkets and pharmacies.
