Vitoria,
a port city is the capital of the Espirito Santo State. The city’s
economy mainly relies on Industry and agriculture. Vitoria was
established in 1551 and currently has an estimated population of
300,000 residents.
The city is world famed for Marlin fishing. Other tourist attractions
here are; the Camburi beach, Penha Convent and Avenida Jeronimo
Monteiro which is the key shopping street in the city. Along
Avenida Beira Mar, you can catch one of the regular buses to
and from the beaches.
Despite its beauty and uniqueness, Vitoria has the distinction
of being one of the most violent cities in Brazil.
It currently
has the highest rates of homicide in the country. As such you
should take caution while visiting and limit your night time
travel. You should also not walk around with valuables.
